I don’t get bothered much by nuisance calls - I usually just tell whoever’s ringing to sod off. You can find info about blocking calls on BT’s site, and generally they don’t do cold calls selling stuff like that. If you’re getting scam calls, make sure to report them to 'Action Fraud'. That’s how the police keep track of how bad these scams really are. Don’t just hope someone else will do it. If you want this to stop, every single scam call, text, or email needs to be reported.

Today, I received a rather suspicious call from an unknown number. An Indian woman, rather crafty if you ask me, claimed to be representing BT. She had my name, address, and phone number, and inquired if I was over the age of fifty, as they supposedly offer a complimentary service to prevent nuisance calls. Of course, she wanted my date of birth for verification - to which I declined. She insisted that by sharing my details, I could simply call 0800 150 150 to get these pesky calls halted. I decided to throw her a curveball and provided a fictitious date of birth from two days prior, as I'm not one to fall for that sort of trap!

Received a call from this number earlier. The chap on the other end sounded quite convincing, to be honest. He couldn’t provide a valid explanation for why BT was reaching out to me, especially considering I don’t even have a BT phone line. Received a call at a quarter past one today, but they just hung up. What a letdown! I was all set with my air horn, cranked up to a painful 130Db. It’s a shame I can’t find something that hits 140Db here in the UK, as that would definitely make them think twice about calling again-permanent ear damage, anyone? Ofcom really isn't pulling their weight when it comes to tackling these VOIP nuisances. By the looks of it, they find it all too laborious, leaving us to come up with our own rather questionable solutions.

On Thursday the 4th of July, 2019 at 9:34am, I got a call from 0800 150 150. I just let the voicemail pick up and they ended the call straight away. These scammers can now make any number show up on your phone, so watch out, even if it looks like it's your bank calling. Be super cautious!

This morning I got two calls from 0800150150. I ignored the first one but picked up the second time and said hello, then they just hung up on me. I’m really relieved to have come across this site because now I know it’s a scam. We’re both acutely aware that our conversations are likely being monitored by an Indian call centre, as you can often catch a hint of their chatter in the background. You can tell they're eavesdropping because the call volume tends to drop when they’re listening in. So, whenever we suspect they’re on the line, we send a specific emoji, and then we launch into some utterly absurd banter about made-up news and juicy gossip, including a bit of saucy chat to really boggle their minds. When I questioned the reason for the call, her responses were monosyllabic at best. I informed her that I wasn’t even a B.T. customer, to which she simply replied “ok” before abruptly ending the call. When I inquired about her identity and her company’s information, she abruptly terminated the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I received a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to represent BT. She assured me that she'd put a stop to any nuisance calls and promised to send me a letter regarding the matter. Strangely, she mentioned both my name and postcode, which left me a bit puzzled.

Received a rather dodgy call earlier purporting to be from BT, trying to chat about nuisance calls. Quite the cheek, if you ask me! The chap on the line instructed me to ring 0800150150 to report anything, but when he requested confirmation of my bank for direct debit details, I promptly said no, and he ended the call rather abruptly. Clearly, it was a scam!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, said they had a free deal to block annoying calls. They already knew my name and postcode, which made me suspicious. When I didn’t want to share my birthday, they just ended the call. Definitely felt off to me.

Got a call from some bloke who said he was “Steven Jones” - might not be his real name though - saying he was from BT. He told me my broadband and calls would be cut off unless I paid an overdue amount of £1.97. He even knew my address and stuff, which made it sound legit at first. But I’m pretty sure he was trying to trick me into giving my debit card details so he could nick £1197 instead of £1.97. Almost took the bait, to be honest.

I had the same thing pop up today, some Indian accent on the phone. When I checked the number on 1471, it came up as 001011. Definitely steer clear of it, almost got caught myself.

Today, I received a rather unexpected call from someone claiming to be from BT, insisting that I owed a sum of £7.26. They warned that I needed to settle this immediately, or else risk being cut off from both my landline and internet services. Funny thing is, I’m still browsing away without a hitch!

I got a phone call earlier today from someone named Mike Wilson, but his accent sounded distinctly Indian. He inquired about my mum's middle name and seemed to know about her direct debit for the bill, wanting to verify which bank it was drawn from. He mentioned that a letter would be sent out in a few weeks to confirm what we discussed over the phone. He also urged my mum to ring 0800150150 anytime if she received any other unsolicited calls, claiming it was a complimentary service aimed at helping older folks. On top of that, he asked for her date of birth as well.

They asked for my date of birth and bank name, but when I said no, they just hung up on me. My phone showed it was an international call and a 1471 check showed the caller ID as 001011.

I pointed out that if they're genuinely from BT, they should already have my details since they've just called me! On a different occasion, I spoke with an Indian woman who was repeating the same lines. When I requested her contact number, she insisted I first confirm my own information. I outright told her I suspected it was a scam, and just like that, she abruptly ended the call!
