This number has rung me loads of times and I just wouldn’t answer any of their questions - seemed to annoy them big time! I got in touch with M&S bank and turns out it’s definitely not them like I thought. Best thing is just ignore and hang up, don’t give them anything.

I got a call from this number saying I had missed a direct debit for a loan I’d taken with M&S Bank. I ended up paying the amount over the phone via that number. A couple of days later, I rang M&S customer service on 0345 900 0900 just to check, and they confirmed the payment had gone through and was credited to my loan. Seems like this is a legit M&S number based on what I went through.

Got two calls in as many days, they kick off by saying my name and asking if they’ve got Mr on the line. Then they want me to do some sort of security check. I just hung up straight away. I looked up the number on M&S’s official fraud checker and it didn’t show up at all. Also chatted with someone through the M&S app, and they said for sure it’s a scam, told me to block the number quick.

Every morning at 8am, this number rings me up. I finally picked up today and spoke to a bloke with a British accent. He was asking for someone who doesn’t live here anymore. When I told him that, he said I had to confirm my own number to get taken off his list. I asked why he needed me to confirm my number since he’d already called me. He said he already had it but needed my confirmation or I’d just keep getting calls. I told him no way I’d share my number, it all seemed a bit fishy to me.

Sounds like a total scam to me, that’s the dodgiest comment I’ve ever come across. I’ve had the exact same thing happen and M&S’s site doesn’t even show that number.

It's not M&S like some others have mentioned as I checked with them and they said it’s definitely not their number. They keep calling every morning just after 8am and again around half 11. I told them straight away I never handle bank stuff over the phone because of all the scams about. They seemed to agree at first.
