Received a call from the number 0800128025 this morning (01.09.2018) at precisely 10:20am. A chap with a bit of an accent proceeded to ask for either myself or my wife by name. Without divulging my identity, I inquired if this was one of those unsolicited calls. He responded by sharing his name. Before he could go further, I pressed him on who he was actually representing. He claimed he was indeed revealing that, but I pointed out that he was merely stating his name. He attempted to go through his script again when I once more asked about his affiliation. At this point, he accused me of being impolite and threatened to hang up. I simply said, “Alright then, goodbye,” and ended the conversation.

A woman rang me claiming to be doing a TSB customer satisfaction survey. She spoke so quickly I had to check if she was rushing to catch a bus or something! It was like one of those funny characters on telly, you know, where you can't quite catch what they're saying on purpose. After a while, she slowed down and I could finally understand and respond to her questions properly. When I used to handle calls at work, I always made sure to speak slowly and clearly so the person on the other end knew exactly who they were speaking to.

My sister received a trio of calls from this number in quick succession, all within about ten minutes. The caller was persistent, trying to get her full name. She flatly declined to provide it on the initial attempt, and by the third call, he even went so far as to state her name and request confirmation. However, she wasn’t having any of it and promptly ended the conversation.

Got a call just now from an unknown number so I didnt pick up. Later I used 1471 to check who it was. Based on the reviews I reckon this could be one of those dodgy scams pretending to be from banks, so better watch out.

I got one of those calls too, thought it was the hospital cos it showed on my caller ID. I picked up and they just dropped the call straight away. Before I even said anything, a voice said “you’re not in right now”. It's strange because I got the same kind of message on a different phone number too. Seems like some businesses, maybe ones selling windows or boilers, are leaving automated messages on overseas numbers. It really annoys me as this number is pretty new. I’ve blocked like nine numbers already and they keep trying to get through!

Got a call claiming to be from Halifax bank wanting to know how I felt about a recent call they said they made, but I never got one before. The woman on the line just said “alright then” and hung up. Bit odd really.
