Got a call on the landline at 6.38pm this evening (9/11/17), a polite lady with an English accent wanting to talk to my other half. She claimed to be from his insurance firm and said there was a customer survey to complete. Since he wasn’t home and it seemed a bit dodgy, I asked which company it was, but she said it was confidential. When I asked when would be a better time to call again, I told her probably never.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent earlier, she wanted to talk to my wife. I said she wasn’t here. Then she asked when she might be back. I asked what the call was about, and she said it was some kind of customer survey for a bank. I asked which bank, but she said she could only tell the account holder that info. So, I just ended the call.

Received a call earlier from someone saying they were from my bank. I asked which one since I manage a couple of accounts, but he wouldn’t say unless I gave my name first. Sounded like a very straight-talking English bloke. Honestly, I’d say it was pretty annoying and borderline harassment.

Some woman claimed to be calling on behalf of my bank, saying she wanted to do a survey about my last visit. The odd thing is, my number’s unlisted and I’m on the TPS, but she still asked for me by name. I never give out info over the phone, especially not for surveys unless I’m getting paid! So I acted like I didn’t speak English well, saying I couldn’t understand her at all. She said she’d call again later when someone else is around to assist!

Got a call from this number today around 2:46pm, the woman said she was from my bank and asked about my last visit there. When I asked which bank she meant, she just said the last one you used and then named it. She spoke English clearly and sounded pretty convincing. I told her I’m happy with my bank but not interested in her survey and asked her to remove me from their list. She said they could call back at a better time to chat again, but I said thanks, no thanks, and she just kept going. In the end, I hung up. I think this is not just annoying but could be risky too.

Got a call, bloke wanted to chat with my wife. Told him she wasn’t home and asked who he was. He claimed to be from her bank, but when I asked which one, he clammed up. Ended the call. Got a call at around 5pm from someone claiming to be from my bank. They asked me to confirm all my banking info but wouldn’t say which bank they were from, saying it's because of data protection. I've been receiving calls on my home phone from the number 08000 128015, and shortly after, my mobile buzzes with 0161 429 3337. I'm starting to suspect it's one of those firms trying to cash in on individuals who've fallen victim to mis-sold payment protection insurance regarding loans. It's quite frustrating, to say the least! I've answered the landline only to be met with silence. I received a rather peculiar call from these individuals claiming to represent my bank. Strangely, they refused to disclose the name of the bank I use, citing the Data Protection Act as the reason. The caller insisted on asking me questions regarding my experiences with their services. I politely suggested that I would ring back using the main number of my bank to verify the call. However, she quickly came up with some flimsy excuse about how it was a different number and abruptly ended the conversation. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

Yesterday my sister got a call from a bloke named Graham claiming to be conducting a survey for the Bank of Scotland. He was saying she'd been to one of their branches earlier this week, which she definitely hadn’t. Turns out it was my daughter who’d popped in to cash a cheque my sister sent her. Since my sister’s ex-directory, the whole thing felt pretty strange. She’s disabled and found the call quite unsettling, so she let her bank branch know what happened. My daughter’s planning to visit the branch tomorrow to mention it too.
