Got a call on the landline at 6.38pm this evening (9/11/17), a polite lady with an English accent wanting to talk to my other half. She claimed to be from his insurance firm and said there was a customer survey to complete. Since he wasn’t home and it seemed a bit dodgy, I asked which company it was, but she said it was confidential. When I asked when would be a better time to call again, I told her probably never.

I asked what the call was about, and she said it was some kind of customer survey for a bank. I asked which bank, but she said she could only tell the account holder that info. Got a call from this number today around 2:46pm, the woman said she was from my bank and asked about my last visit there. When I asked which bank she meant, she just said the last one you used and then named it. She spoke English clearly and sounded pretty convincing. I told her I’m happy with my bank but not interested in her survey and asked her to remove me from their list. She said they could call back at a better time to chat again, but I said thanks, no thanks, and she just kept going. In the end, I hung up. I think this is not just annoying but could be risky too.

I received a call earlier from someone requesting to speak to my wife. When I mentioned she wasn’t around, I inquired who was calling, and he claimed to be from her bank.
