Got two calls from +44 800 124 4687 today, 25/3/21. Picked up after a few rings but no one spoke, just silence then it cut off! Tried calling back and got a message saying the number's not reachable. Plus, this morning I had a call from a number like it, tried ringing back and it said the number’s not in service! Weird.

Got a call earlier today about supposedly owing £185 for a drain cover last payment. Luckily, I was at my mums and answered. She’s been tricked a few times and ended up paying those scammers. I blocked the number straight away. Proper shameful tactics.

I got a call from this number on 3rd July, supposedly about some 'call blocker' offer. Just about 10 mins ago, someone else rang claiming to be from 'Home Serve' offering insurance for drains. Funny to see others here mentioning the same. She'd called me a couple of times before but I never bothered to look up the number. After the last call, I checked and found we already have insurance and never set up anything with her like she said '2 years ago'. So this time I wasn’t having any of it. Blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from a company claiming to be local, wanting to inspect my loft insulation. They asked what kind I had, but something felt off, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from something like 'home advice' - can't really remember exactly what she called it. She asked about insulation for the walls and roof that supposedly had been installed. I dodged the question and asked her who she was instead. She insisted she had me down as the registered owner, which is true. I told her no work had been done by them to our place, maybe the previous owners did something, and we've actually done a roof conversion with some local contractors. After that, she just said "Alright, we'll leave it at that" and hung up on me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from FirstChoice Home Improvements, saying they needed to inspect my insulation. I fell for it and ended up agreeing to have them come round.

I never got told who was calling. They kept asking for Mr Meakins, who hasn’t lived at this number for over a decade now. Pretty sure his details are on some scammer’s easy target list that’s been shared online or somewhere shady. I get calls about him all the time.

Got a call about some drainage cover issue. Told them straight away I don’t have any because I live in council housing. After that, she ended the call pretty fast, didn’t hang about at all.

I saw a call from a blocked number and decided not to pick up. When I looked it up here, I found past calls that looked quite alike. From what others have said, looks like it's related to insulation stuff.

Got a call from a woman saying she was with some firm giving free air tests about decomposing cavity insulation. I asked her what exactly was breaking down and she just cut the call right away. Happened on 20th July 2020, somewhere near Southampton.

Got a call on my home phone but because I’ve got a screening system set up, it showed up as a blocked number on the log.

Honestly, these folks are just out here scamming people. They call older folks pretending they’ll lower the cost of their drain cover! But in reality, most don’t have a separate deal for that - it’s usually included in the main insurance or often comes with a British Gas package. If someone you know has fallen for this trick, get in touch with their bank straight away; they can sort out a full refund. I had to do the same recently after my mum got caught up in their scheme.

Got a call saying they’d sent a certificate about some drainage cover. Thing is, I don’t even have any drainage cover! Feels like a scam to me, watch out for this.

I got a call from this number claiming they wanted to arrange a monthly direct debit for call blocking on my home phone. They said I’d already 'subscribed' a couple of years ago and just needed to confirm my info. I’d been caught out by a similar scam not long ago where someone ended up using my card to order takeaway. I checked with BT if anyone else offered call-blocker services and was told it’s just BT. I told the woman that and said I wasn’t interested, then ended the call without sharing any details. Best to avoid talking to them!
