They seem to have a recorded message on auto-pickup, complete with some rather tedious hold music, but there's not a soul available to assist.

I've been getting these persistent silent calls on both my mobile and home phone. When I decided to ring them back, it turned out to be Domestic & General. Eventually, when I managed to get someone on the line, they asked for my partner, who was busy changing the baby at the time. The person on the other end was rather curt and hung up before I could glean any useful information from them. I've since called to request that my number be removed from their list and even lodged a complaint through their website.

Isn’t cold calling meant to be against the law? I got this polite voicemail asking me to ring 0800 1218147 if I want them to stop calling. Seriously, what’s that about? If I was interested, I’d have phoned them first. I refuse to call back just to confirm my own number - sounds dodgy to me! Never give out your home number to strangers, stick to mates only.
