Received a call from this number at 11:44 this morning. I'm on the Telephone Preference Service list, yet these folks still seem to persist with their calls.

I’ve had a run-in with these folks from Yell. They solicit your personal information under the guise of adding your business to their advertising listings for a so-called trial. Then, they follow it up with an email that, it seems, you inadvertently agree to - as if you’re signing some kind of contract! Before you know it, they’re back on the phone, incessantly chasing after payment. It’s quite relentless, to say the least!

I received a call from 0800 108 579, which turned out to be Yell.com, or Yellow Pages or something of the sort. They claimed they were just looking to “verify some personal details.” I let them know that it’s rather dodgy what they’re doing by calling a number registered with the Telephone Preference Service and that it comes across as a clear case of voice phishing. Quite cheeky, if you ask me!

Ugh, they’ve been ringing me nonstop, like 7 times today! I just don’t pick up calls from 0800 numbers, I find them super annoying. Honestly, the easiest thing to do is to just block the number and stop dealing with them altogether.

Just a heads up, HIBU is basically a branch off YELL.com. They ring you up trying to pitch advertising space, SEO services, and a “free” analysis of your current website. Truth be told, most of what they’re pushing you can handle on your own way cheaper. If you set up a Google Adwords account, you can manage your ads and costs way more effectively yourself. Plus, Google offers free tips for small businesses too! Loads of companies slap on the ‘Google partner’ label, but they’re not officially linked to Google at all. Honestly, it’s just a tacky money grab, and you end up paying way more than you should. Avoid signing up for a free Yell listing unless you want to be swamped with calls and spam from HIBU! They don’t really support small businesses - just want your cash for stuff you can do yourself. Just a warning!

They rang me and then just hung up when I picked up. Honestly, these calls need to be stopped. I've blocked the number now. I have no idea how they even got my digits since I’ve only shared it with close mates. It’s a pay-as-you-go number too.

I got convinced to go with yell.com by someone from their sales team who told me this number was linked to them. The way their sales reps work is bloody awful - they call you even from blocked or mobile numbers. They won't just take no, and honestly, they can come off quite aggressive.

Got a call from some automated system that, when you pick up and a sales rep is free, connects you straight to them for a sales pitch. But if no one's around, you just sit there listening to the noise from their call centre. I've put the number on my blocked list now because Yell is just a complete rip-off.
