Weird thing is, loads of other folks are saying this number is from BG. But I just got a call from someone claiming to be N Power, saying they were phoning to sort out renewing my contract. They kept telling me not to chat with any third party companies because they'd try to get me to switch my deal. It all felt a bit pushy, like they wanted my info no matter what. When I said I wasn’t interested, they wouldn’t back off, so I just ended the call.

It's strange that loads of people here say this number is British Gas. Just before, I was checking my British Gas account online, trying to see if I could save any money on my bills (barely £12 a year, so not really worth it). Right after that, this number 08001077473 rang me, I didn’t pick up, so I searched the number and most sites say it’s BG. It's really annoying to think they’re keeping tabs on what I do on my account, and I’m fed up with these calls - especially since I’ve got my number ex-directory and registered with TPS!

On 20th September 2017 at about 7.20pm, I got a call from 08001077473. The lady who answered didn’t say my name, just said her name was Claire and she was from BG. Strangely, my info wasn’t showing up on her screen. I asked what the call was about and she mentioned something about my account details. She said I’d get another call in a few days. After reading all these reviews, if I see this number again, I’m just going to block it. If BG really needs to contact me, this is definitely not the way to do it.

I've had quite a nuisance with this particular number in recent days. It rings a few times and then promptly turns into a missed call. Some bloke rang saying he was from BT and even knew my name plus the beginning of my postcode, which was spot on. I've had a few calls from people saying they're from British Gas, but when I looked up the number on their official website, it didn't match at all. Seems dodgy to me, especially since they ask for personal details under the pretence of checking accounts. I'd advise against picking up and just block the number. They also try to lure you in by claiming free insulation offers. Remember, anyone can get an 0800 number, so just because it’s a free call doesn’t mean it’s legit. Don’t get caught out!
