Got a call from someone claiming to be from my bank. They said there has been some dodgy activity on my account and that they need to secure it. Then they asked me to share access to my device. The number they called from was 0800 096 9779.

I received a call from this number, and I suspect it’s been faked by scammers. What’s unsettling is that they had some of my old personal information, which is rather alarming.

Watch out for this number, mate. Some bloke calls pretending to be from the bank, acting like he knows everything - your balance, your home address, even if you’ve just got a new number and haven’t told anyone. Somehow, they’ve got it and will ring that number too, trying to get you to confirm your details. Not a nice person at all.

Total rip off, only a proper numpty would fall for this rubbish. Banks always check your security question and code word to make sure it’s really you. So heads up, if a bank rings and skips the usual security stuff, it’s dodgy as hell.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Lloyd's fraud team. They mentioned the last 4 digits of my account which were correct and asked me to confirm my address, but messed up the postcode. I didn’t confirm anything and they got really rude, telling me to go f*** myself three times! I ended the call and they rang straight back but I ignored it.

Got a call from this number after I foolishly gave my card and bank details to a really convincing scam claiming to be about a failed Hermes delivery through Amazon, unbelievable. How on earth did these scammers know Amazon uses Hermes to deliver and then send a message pretending to be Hermes about a missed delivery to trick you into handing over your bank info? Luckily, I cancelled my card right away. Since then, this number keeps calling but I haven't picked up. Definitely learnt my lesson now.

Someone rang claiming to be from the Lloyds Fraud Dept, saying they stopped a payment from my account to a shop in Glasgow, Scotland. They already knew my name and address. They asked me to move money to a "safe" new account. BE WARNED, I tried to end the call about 4 times and they just kept pushing. Really pushy and not to be trusted.

Got a message from Lloyds Bank saying there’s been some dodgy stuff on my account and it’s been put on hold, with a Ref Number included and a note that I’d get a call soon. Then I got three calls in ten minutes from 08000969779 which I ignored and just blocked straight away. Honestly, the safest move is to just log into your account and check for yourself. Glad to see loads of others have flagged this too. Keep safe everyone :)

On the 10th of March, I received a call from this number, but not knowing who it was, I decided to let it ring. Afterward, out of curiosity, I looked it up using the WHO CALLED ME APP and discovered it was a scammer. I immediately went to the Play Store and grabbed a call blocker app, which has proven to be quite effective in stopping any further calls from that number. I'm quite relieved that I took that step!

Totally a scam. Like others mentioned, the caller claimed to be from the fraud team (mine said it was Halifax). They told me they had stopped a payment to Currys from a strange IP address. Seemed legit at first, but then they asked me to open the app and make some codes for them. Definitely a fraudster trying to trick me.

Someone called saying they were from Nationwide and that my card had been tried twice abroad. They asked for my customer number and somehow already had the last 4 digits of my card, plus my address and postcode. They then said they’d get the fraud team to send me a new debit card. When I phoned my bank to check, they told me there were no unusual transactions and it sounded like a scam.

Someone rang me, pretending to be from Lloyds Bank, saying there was weird activity on my debit card. They mentioned a purchase in Scotland, but I told them I've never been there. Then they said I lived in London, which isn’t true, but the guy just accepted it anyway. I rang my bank and they confirmed it was a scam, so I had to get my card cancelled right away. Just be careful and don’t answer calls like this - hang up straight away.

That caller pretending to be from Lloyds was a total con! It’s definitely not Lloyds. Never ever send them any cash, whatever they say. I’ve seen it on the site too, but it’s a fraud for sure.

They said they were calling from Barclays but the call kept dropping. I rang back the number they gave and it turned out to be a Lloyds number. Then they called me again saying someone was trying to steal money from my account, but when I pointed out it was odd they claimed to be Barclays with a Lloyds number, they just hung up!

This number is definitely a scam. Just a heads up, if you ever get a message claiming to be from your bank, don’t just reply or call the number they send. Instead, look up the proper contact info on the bank’s official website or check the phone number on your card before doing anything!

Got a dodgy call from someone saying they were Lloyds on this number. They first sent a text asking if I’d authorised a £150 payment to Deliveroo. Told me to reply with Y or N, but I didn’t. Then they rang the next day pretending to be from Lloyds Fraud Team. Total scam. I’ve already alerted my bank about it.

Someone rang saying they were from Lloyds Bank, telling me my card had some sort of issue and asked if I wanted to cancel it. I told them I'd like to know what their plan was before agreeing, just to see how much they'd try. Pretty sure they realised I wasn't fooled and ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from an insurance firm, trying to fish for my details. But honestly, no legit insurance company would ever ask for personal info over the phone like that - they usually send stuff by post. When I asked them for more info about who they were, they just got rude and dropped the call. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying they were from the fraud team at Lloyd’s Bank. They told me my card was supposedly used at Sainsbury’s for £139.95 just today. She asked me to look it up on Lloyd’s website while she stayed on the line. I said I’d call back later, and then she just ended the call. Lloyd’s would never handle things like that if there was really fraud on your account. Pretty clear this was a scam.

Got a call earlier today for my missus, totally unexpected. The caller knew the last four digits of her account and her full name, but the thing is, her account isn’t even with Lloyds. They were pushing hard for her to give up security info. The bloke said he was ringing from a call centre in Helensburgh and even dropped a postcode and a freephone number to sound legit. Proper sneaky stuff. Absolute scammers.

My wife got a call from 08000969779 about some dodgy transactions on her bank account. They claimed someone tried to spend over £360 in Belfast and said they were from Lloyd’s bank. She sounded proper convincing at first, but turned out to be a complete scammer. They even had the last four digits of my wife’s card and their home address! My wife told them she’d ring back because it didn’t seem legit. When we tried calling the number back, it played a really authentic voicemail, just like Lloyd’s actual recorded message. Honestly, it’s a nasty scam to watch out for.

I got a call from this number claiming to be from Lloyds bank's fraud department. Total scam, they should be stopped for good. I told the bloke he was lying and to get lost. Had another dodgy call just a few days back nearly fooled me. Don’t give them any info, hang up straight away and inform your bank. Forget all about Brexit, we ought to be hunting these scammers down and making them answer for it. I reckon a bullet costs like 5p these days anyway.

Got a message from FreeText about some fraud on my Lloyds account. They rang me two times from this number. I missed the first call. They claimed there was a £159 fraud on my card from a Sainsbury’s in Liverpool. It felt dodgy right from the start. They didn’t ask for any personal info but messed up the name of my card type. Then they just cut the call all of a sudden.
