2 yearsSo this number rang me back in January, saying they were from Lloyds Bank. I told them I was tied up and would ring back later. When I checked with Lloyds, they said they hadn't made any calls to me. I’m pretty sure it’s the scammers who tried to trick me last year with a dodgy NHS website. I reported this number to Action Fraud but heard nothing from them about taking any action. Quite frustrating really.Lloyds BankLloydsAction Fraud3 yearsI received a call from a bloke claiming to be from Nationwide bank. I checked with the bank directly and they assured me that no one had made such a call.Nationwide3 yearsGot a call from a bloke claiming to be with Nationwide Bank, saying there was a suspicious £430 transaction attempted in Glasgow and that he needed to cancel my card. Something didn’t sit right with me, so I asked him to verify my birth year, but he got it wrong. I ended the call straight away and then rang the Nationwide fraud department on 159 to double-check. They told me nobody from their side had contacted me. Pretty sure if I’d gone along with cancelling the card, he’d have asked for my card details and security code.Nationwide BankGlasgow3 yearsSomeone rang me from this number saying they were from Lloyds Bank. They already had my full name, address, and credit card details, and claimed there had been suspicious use of my card in Dubai. When I asked for proof they really were the bank, I foolishly gave them the phone number for reporting lost and stolen cards. They then messaged me from that same number, which made me think it was legit. I still don’t know how I fell for it, but thankfully Lloyds managed to freeze all the transactions. Definitely a reminder to listen to your gut next time.Lloyd ' s BankDubaiLloyd ' sSubmit Your Own Report (0800 096 9778)
