Got a recorded call that was exactly like one from RBS. They rang twice within 11 minutes while I wasn’t able to answer, so I rang back and heard the same “RBS” message. It seemed so believable, but my husband was quick to say that banks never ask for your customer or security numbers over the phone. I rang RBS just to be sure and ended up changing our security info. Even though I’ve been warned loads about banks calling you at home, it was still easy to almost fall for it. Feeling a bit stupid, so please be careful out there, folks.

I saw on here that this might be a scam number but linked to RBS. I bank with them too, so I rang RBS on a separate line. They told me 08000923058 is indeed one of their numbers but the department that uses it said they never called me and had no reason to do so. So it looks like someone else might be pretending to be them using that number. The bank suggested I block it for my own safety, saying if they really needed to contact me, they’d use a different number. So I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

I received a call from a woman with a lovely accent typical of the home counties. She inquired about a Mr. Brent. Got a call from RBS about arranging a Zoom meeting with someone from a branch I'd been to before. They didn’t ask for any of my personal info. They said someone would ring me a few days before the appointment to confirm and then send over the Zoom link - that part seemed a little strange. However, I called the RBS number on the back of my card afterwards to verify it all, and the person on the phone checked their system, saw the Zoom meeting booked, and confirmed the name of the person who called me. So I guess it’s legit.

This is definitely an RBS number BUT IT'S BEEN COMPROMISED. I missed a couple of calls from it and when I phoned back, it asked me to enter my 10-digit customer ID and then two digits from my login number, but the call ended abruptly. I tried again, went through the same steps but it asked for the other two digits of my login, then put me through to some "operator" who said it was a well-known scam and to just ignore it if they call again. It felt off, so I rang my bank using the number on the back of my card and they said they’d never made those calls.

Got a call from a sharp sounding woman saying she was from RBS, telling me about a special number for over 60s to avoid long waits on the usual RBS phone line. She also tried to help me set up online banking! I told her I’m fine with how I do things now, no need for online stuff. What’s weird is that the same number tried my mobile just a few minutes earlier but it showed up as possible scam, so I ignored it. Then I heard the typical RBS automated message asking for personal numbers and codes. As soon as I realised this was happening I cut the call off straight away, knowing it was a scam. Really got a call from my local NW/RBS branch in Farnborough about organising a financial health review. I’ve had one done before and happy to do it again. Their service is top notch. Don’t rush to judge based on the bad comments here - they often ring customers after the branch has closed, usually around the same time, especially those who've had changes in their situation or might be struggling with everyday banking since the pandemic began. It’s quite helpful tbh.

I got a call today from what said it was Royal Bank of Scotland Customer Support. Apparently, because of some EU rules, they had to shut down quite a few of their branches, which left lots of people without a nearby branch to go to. I got a call today at 12.47 from 08000923058 and the person knew my name, saying she was from RBS. She went by Irene or maybe Eileen Kelly or Kennedy - can’t quite be sure. I missed a call from this number around 10.30 this morning. No idea who it was.

A rather unexpected number appeared on my mum's phone today, and we were taken aback since she's got all incoming calls blocked. She's living with dementia but manages to use her phone reasonably well. During the day, she’s on her own, and she rang me instantly to tell me she hadn’t been able to answer in time. Now I'm left feeling quite anxious about who this caller could have been and worried about her safety.

So, I seen the comments here and noticed I’ve had 3 calls from this same number over the last ten days. I didn’t pick up but decided to look it up online and ended up on this site. Definitely seems like a scam, so I won’t be answering any more.

This definitely isnt Natwest or RBS. I got a call from this number and thought it was odd, so I rang up RBS myself to check. They told me straight that it’s a scam 100%. Banks like RBS or Natwest won’t ever ring you up like that; if there’s something wrong they always write to you first. So be careful with calls from this number!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with RBS, said he could help me with money stuff and even knew my name. I told him I was tied up and didn’t need anything, then just ended the call.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was with RBS, said he wanted to help me clear a credit card that I actually finished paying off ages ago, like two years back. Seriously, don’t hand over any details to that guy, he’s a total con.
