Does anyone know if this Halifax number is legit? I got an email saying to ring this number from a "Benjamin Wynn", who claims he's the "Complaints Manager - Customer Service". I'm a bit wary and don’t want to give out any info until I’m sure it’s for real. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Got a text claiming to be from Halifax, asking me to ring about some "concern" they raised. They gave me an extension and a reference number to quote. Feels a bit dodgy, like a scam to me.

just got a text from someone saying it's halifax about a complaint ive supposedly made. ive never made any complaint and the number had some weird extension and a pin thing. definitely sounds like a scam to me so im not bothering to call back. jay russell here, same story.

I received a text today from a number claiming to be “Halifax.” The contents of the message were quite curious: “Mrs. Harvey, we will be reaching out to discuss your complaint. [Funny, as I haven't lodged one.] If we miss you, please get in touch with Aalia Iqbal at 0800 092 2698, using PIN 1582008, any time between 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening. Reference number 15426587. Thanks.” Just a mere two minutes later, I received a voicemail from “Aalia,” who had a noticeable Scottish twang, instructing me to ring back using the same number! To make matters even stranger, I’d also been contacted earlier by another number (447800003951), supposedly from “Barnes Lodge Care Homes,” which was yet again inquiring about my “complaint.” It’s abundantly clear this is some sort of scam aimed at pressuring individuals into divulging personal information or returning calls.
