Got a call from this number poppin' up on my screen sayin' my computer was badly infected with malware. Even tho I'd been tricked before, it freaked me out a bit. I answered and they started talkin’ me through fixing it, saying it was really damaged. Felt a bit worried, then they asked me to give them access to my PC to “clean” it. That’s when I realised it was dodgy. Hung up quick and ran a full virus check myself - everything was fine. Restarted the computer just to be safe and all seems good now. How come these scams are still allowed to happen?

AVOID THIS NUMBER AT ALL COSTS! It’s connected to a malware issue that has now infected my laptop (which is currently undergoing a thorough clean). A gentleman claiming to be called Marshall will insist that for a fee of either £199 or £298, he can resolve the issue. Thankfully, I managed to say I didn’t have the funds and promptly terminated the call.

Out of nowhere this popup appeared warning me my bank details would be stolen. I rang the number they gave, and they grilled me for my full name and age, which made me suspicious right away. I called them a scammer, and then the guy just hung up on me, calling me a f***ing idiot for my language. Honestly, just shut your laptop down, restart it, run a decent antivirus, and you’ll be fine.

Just got caught out after opening an email from a neighbour and suddenly my screen froze with loud ringing noises, couldn’t do a thing. Tried shutting my laptop down but it kept turning back on by itself. Thankfully, a kind IT firm in Bungay talked me through fixing it on the phone. Heads up - it’s definitely a scam, and don’t call the number they show on the screen!

I got caught up in a scam once, didn't hand over any cash thankfully, but I did let them access my laptop remotely. Since then, my computer hasn't been functioning right. Honestly, this should be reported to the fraud department.

This looks like one of those classic scam pop-ups on Windows. The folks commenting are mostly from the older generation, like baby boomers. Just don’t reboot your computer, simply shut the browser tab - it’s nothing but a tab, no real threat.

My laptop froze after showing a message telling me to ring this number. It was also asking for my username and password, which seemed really dodgy. Now the whole thing’s completely locked and I can't get anything to work.

I got a message saying I had illegal stuff on my computer, which is totally not true. It’s a nasty trick just to frighten people into probably sending cash. Just reboot your computer and the message disappears. Definitely don’t ring that number!

I got a similar warning telling me I’d been on adult websites, which was a shock - never thought a mirror would be counted as one of those! Anyway, don’t fall for it or send them any cash.
