I kept getting calls with some weird recorded message that told me to ring back a certain number. The company name they said was nearly impossible to understand, sounded like the start of the recording got chopped off or something. The voicemail started with a dull robotic voice reciting some numbers, then kept going over the same line: “the number to ring us back on is 0800 085 7595.” Quite a rubbish attempt. From what I’ve seen in other comments, there’s no doubt it’s a scam - people mention all sorts of scams involving PayPal and even the police. Really annoying! They say they’re from PayPal asking for money but PayPal NEVER calls you like this! Don’t pick up or trust this number at all. Just block it straight away even tho you’ll still get loads of persistent voicemails. Make sure you report it to a proper fraud team who deals with phishing calls. It’s obvious this is some automated system that won’t quit. I’ve reported it and hope the authorities can investigate and shut it down quick before anyone gets tricked or worse. Honestly, these scammers are the worst!

Properly annoying! They say they're from PayPal asking for cash but PayPal NEVER rings you up like that! Don’t pick up or engage with this number at all. Just block it straight away, though be warned you'll probably keep getting loads of voicemails. Definitely report it to a legit fraud department that deals with phishing calls. It’s clear this is some sort of robo-call that just never quits. I’ve reported the number myself and really hope they check it out and deal with it quickly before anyone falls foul. These scammers are the worst!

I blocked this number ages ago but still getting these irritating voicemails from a robot woman saying ‘okay the number is 08000857595, cheers’. If it was really PayPal, I doubt they’d be messaging like this trying to reach people. This sort of thing should be sorted out somehow.

Got a call from someone saying they were Paypal. I hung up and blocked the number, also reported it. They've left loads of voicemails just giving a number to ring back. Don’t bother calling them, nothing wrong with my Paypal account. It’s definitely a scam, so best to ignore and report these calls.

They've been calling me non stop for the past fortnight. I put a block on 08000857608 but now I keep getting voicemails telling me to ring back on 08000857595. Proper nuisance calls. Even after blocking, the voicemails just won’t stop and it’s driving me mad.

TOTAL SCAM ALERT. IF PAYPAL NEEDS TO REACH YOU ABOUT AN ISSUE, THEY'LL SEND YOU AN EMAIL OR A MESSAGE, NOT RING YOU. THESE SCAMMERS GET YOUR INFO FROM SOME SYSTEM GLITCH, MAKING THEM SEEM LEGIT. EVEN PAYPAL'S TWITTER CLAIMS THE NUMBER IS REAL, BUT DON'T LET THAT TRICK YOU.

This number (+448000857608) rings me almost every day, sometimes two or more times, with a voicemail that just says "0857595 thank you." When I checked it out, turns out it's a scam linked to the same lot who keep bothering me from a different number pretending to be PayPal. I don't use PayPal at all, so it's obviously a con! Really wish they'd quit pestering me now.

Claiming to be Paypal, but they’re definitely not. I’ve had about 5 calls from them over the last few weeks. They told me to confirm my ID through email and said it didn’t match their records. I could tell they were just making it up. Paypal themselves told me it wasn’t them. They said they’d get in touch via email or message if needed.

They said they were from PayPal but I rang PayPal myself and this call wasn’t from them. Total scam. Watch out, they try and get your bank info and other personal details.

Someone said they were from PayPal and rang my home phone. When I checked my voicemail, there was this message calling it a "personal business call" and they wanted me to ring them back. Sounds fishy to me.
