Got a call about tax help, but they pretended like they already had business with me. You can spot them easily since right when you pick up there's this clicking sound, like they're transferring you to a call centre. I could even hear other people in the background giving the exact same spiel. Total giveaway it’s all just a call centre scam.

I’ve gotten loads of calls and texts from this number too, all saying they’re Santander. It’s some automated voice telling you to check your details like DOB and postcode. From what others are saying, it doesn’t seem legit at all.

As someone who works in banking, I can say for certain they'd never ring you like this. Never give out your info if you get a call from this number or anyone claiming to be your bank. It’s always a good idea to ring your bank directly just to double check your account’s okay - better safe than sorry!

This def ain’t Santander, must be some kinda scam. I’m curious how many others have had this text or calls after using their credit cards recently. I haven't touched my Santander credit card in ages, only used it one time in January this year. Right after that, the texts and calls started coming in. Proper creepy, eh! Would be good if others could chime in if they’re getting the same. This really needs checking out properly.

Totally a scam. I dialed 141 and rang them back, they said they were from Santander and even knew my name. I didn’t share any details though, and after checking with Santander themselves, they confirmed it was a scam. They said there’s nothing they can do since scammers keep switching phone numbers. I’m thinking of shutting down my Santander accounts because their security folks seem either lazy or clueless, maybe both.

This number says it’s Santander. I kept getting calls and texts for some bloke called ‘David Arnot’ - not me though. Decided to pop into a Santander branch today thinking maybe someone messed up their phone number. The guy there told me it’s actually a scam. He told me to quickly email [email protected][###][###] to let them know about it. Better safe than sorry!

Got a text that looked like it was from Santander saying I’d get a follow-up message to reply to. Then got the second message from 85458 claiming to be Santander, telling me to ring this number 0800 085 1593 - which isn’t actually Santander. With Brexit coming up, I guess scams like texts, calls and dodgy emails are on the rise. Best advice? Don’t give out your details and always contact your bank straight away yourself.

Got a robocall from a number saying it was Santander. Yesterday I got a text that looked like it was from Santander saying I missed a credit card payment and to tap a link to pay automatically. I knew I’d already paid, so I got suspicious and rang my bank today to check. They told me straight up not to reply or click any links in texts claiming to be from Santander, it’s a scam. Be wary!

Turns out Santander decided to take my full card payment early every month, moving my direct debit forward. I got a letter about insufficient funds, which was dated just a day before I get paid. And guess what? The letter doesn’t have the 0800 number to call about this anywhere - no header, no footer, no fine print. Not a single message left either. Seriously frustrating. Now I have to ring the number on the letter and try to fix this unauthorised change to my direct debit date. Argh!

I rang the number back and they said they were from “Santander”, but when I asked them about it, they said there's no record of them ever contacting me. I don’t even have any accounts or business with Santander. They keep ringing, mostly after work hours, and the guy I talked to said they use some autodial system which is why they never leave a voicemail. It’s so annoying, especially since I haven’t dealt with them before and now they can’t seem to take me off their list because apparently there’s no record of them calling me! :(
