The people on the other end claimed to be Microsoft support and insisted my PC was infected, which was why Office wouldn’t install (my computer was brand new, only a couple of days old, and always had antivirus running!). They offered to fix it for £285. I got in touch with official Microsoft, who confirmed it was a scam.
