Yeah, pretty clear this was one of those scam robo calls. They said something like, “The moment you get this message, either you or your lawyer on record need to ring us back straight away.” Apparently, whatever they were talking about was urgent. Some bloke called James Miller who claimed to be an officer gave a number to call back - 0800 0698472, he repeated it a couple of times just in case. Then he warned not to ignore the message, saying if there’s no return call from me or my lawyer, he’d just have to wish me luck with whatever mess this is. Sounds like typical dodgy nonsense to me.

Classic scam robocall here. It starts right away with "As soon as you get this message, either you or your appointed lawyer must call back immediately. This matter is very urgent. I'm officer James Miller and the number for my department is 0800 0698472, that's 0800 0698472. Make sure you don’t ignore this message and call back. If neither you nor your lawyer gets in touch, then all I can do is wish you luck as things develop. Goodbye and be well." Complete rubbish, don’t fall for it!

Just ignore these calls, it’s a complete scam. They all say the same thing, some “officer” named James Midlow Milner or something, claiming to be from HMRC. They want me to get a lawyer and keep saying it’s urgent to call back immediately. Total nonsense, don’t fall for it!

On 15th March 2019, I got this clearly dodgy automated voicemail on my answerphone. Same kind of scammy message I'd first heard back on 1st April 2019. Definitely a trick to catch people out.

Got a message with this proper bossy tone, ordering me to ring them back. They said they're from the tax office, all urgent like, saying the call can't wait. Didn’t mention what’d happen if I didn’t respond though. Just ignore it, it’s clearly some kind of automated robo call, no use getting angry!

Don't pick up this number, they're claiming to be HMRC but it's all a load of rubbish. They're just scammers trying to trick you. Best thing to do is block them if you can. They try to intimidate you but it’s all just bluff, so don’t fall for it. If you're really worried, just call HMRC directly to check. As for me, I mess around with them and keep them talking for ages. The longest time I kept one going was over an hour, no joke. At one point, I even took them with me to the loo while I was on the toilet. Made my day!

I got a voicemail on my answering machine from an older sounding British bloke telling me or my lawyer to get back to him right away because it was urgent and time-sensitive. He claimed to be Officer James Miller and gave a number for his department: 0800 0698772. He warned that not replying would put me in serious trouble. Honestly, I had a bit of a freak out until I looked up the number here and saw it's a known scam. I'm planning to write down exactly what the message said and pass it to the police.
