I’ve just been hit with a dodgy message supposedly from PayPal, referring to a transaction dated 20th December 2022.

I too found myself on the receiving end of a payment request amounting to £779.49, which appeared to be from a genuine PayPal email in Spain, sent by someone named Jermaine Lehner. The message urged me to ring the aforementioned number should I wish to abort the transaction. Regrettably, I did just that, and it turned out to be a colossal error on my part. I've since lost a substantial sum from my bank account and now must file a report with the authorities to try and recover my funds. I've certainly learnt a tough lesson: a legitimate PayPal would never ask you to call a number to cancel a payment. That’s something you would typically manage through their official Resolution Centre online.

If you've received a money request, it's crucial to access your PayPal account directly-avoid clicking any links provided. Be sure to cancel the transaction right away. Please take a moment to look at your PayPal account and make sure to revoke the payment request. This wasn’t merely a scam attempt; it appeared that an actual payment request was submitted to PayPal. I’m quite worried that it could have been processed if I hadn’t caught it in time and stopped it.

I received a rather dodgy payment request that sent chills down my spine. It appears to be a genuine PayPal notice from someone named Simeon Luettrig, supposedly linked to VIPRE SECURITY. It's quite unsettling, to be honest! Make sure you promptly cancel any transaction via PayPal to avoid falling into this trap.

I got an email from PayPal requesting money, which I didn't recognise at all. Curious, I hopped onto Google to track down their customer service number and gave it a ring. They started bombarding me with ‘security questions,’ and that’s when it hit me! This wasn't actually PayPal’s number; it was a clever scam! Please, folks, be cautious and don’t share any personal information-PayPal never asks for your card details or answers to security questions like that. Stay safe!

I recently encountered a rather clever scam that masqueraded as a genuine PayPal notification. I received a call telling me I needed to halt a payment. When I rang the number provided, I was connected to what seemed to be an official PayPal call centre and they began asking for my details. Turns out, it wasn’t PayPal at all!

I got an email from PayPal about a request for £779.49 from someone named Meredith Gottlieb at VIPRE SECURITY. Quickly jumped onto my PayPal account using a different device and cancelled that request straight away. I also took a moment to double-check my payment methods to confirm that no funds had been withdrawn. Just to be safe, I forwarded the suspicious email to PayPal’s phishing address as well.

Be cautious: if someone has your PayPal email, they can easily issue a request for payment. You'll have to give it the green light before any money changes hands. The real trickery lies in tricking you into reaching out regarding that request; they'll masquerade as PayPal to fish for your login credentials. Once they’ve got that info, they can greenlight their own transactions straight from your account. The best course of action? Simply delete the request without delay.

I can hardly believe it, but I've been well and truly hoodwinked. It was an exceptionally cunning con, and I’ve spent the entire evening on the blower to my bank’s fraud squad to sort out the mess. I’m absolutely infuriated at having fallen for it. It hit me halfway through the conversation, but by then, it was too late, and I had to halt every transaction. The request for funds definitely came through to my PayPal account, but the number I dialled-this one-was where everything went awry. Being on the PayPal site, one naturally assumes it’s all above board.

I recently received an email that appeared to be from PayPal, claiming that a chap named Neal Kub had sent me a request for payment. The message stated that I had supposedly forked out £779.49 to a firm called VIPRE SECURITY. It went on to say if I didn’t fancy going through with this charge, I should ring a number they provided: +44-800-058-4363 to cancel the order. Honestly, it looked convincing enough to make me rethink my entire PayPal account!
