It had a number to ring back 0800 058 4174 if I hadn’t done it. Turns out it’s a total scam, so don’t bother calling that number. The message showed up from +44 7845 807296. Stay careful, folks!

I got a dodgy message on the 14th of January, 2023, claiming I owed £899.99. The number listed was +44-800-058, and it implied I had somehow sent this money to ESET NOD32. There was a note from someone named Theresa Sezate saying that if I didn't authorise this transaction, I should ring their customer support at +44-800-058-4174. The whole thing felt off, especially with a transaction ID (U-30409731FN697281S) and a date of 16 December 2022. I'm pretty certain this is a scam!

I recently came across the number +44-800-058-4174, which is apparently linked to a fraudulent payment attempt masquerading as a Paypal transaction on my account. It’s worth noting that the request showed up as a PAYMENT REQUEST in my Paypal, not an actual payment! The message I received was quite dodgy, suggesting that a payment had already been processed. I took immediate action and cancelled the request, and I've since reported it to Paypal. I'm quite irritated that this nonsense made it to my account in the first place. Whatever you do, steer clear of this number!

Much like previous remarks I've seen, it's rather alarming that a fraudulent payment solicitation has somehow reached PayPal. This definitely raises some eyebrows! It's essential to get that payment request nixed, but it appears there's no clear avenue to flag this scam with PayPal. I’ve heard of ESET NOD32 - they’re apparently a cybersecurity company. What a complete scam this is! They ping you with a payment request through PayPal, and lo and behold, they sneak in a dodgy phone number right in there. If you dare to ring it, you'll find yourself connected to a call centre that’s eager to extract a security question from you. Just for good measure, even if you check your PayPal account, that same shifty number will be right there in the notes. Best to nip that request in the bud and cancel it straight away!

Like many, I've halted the transaction and reported it as a phishing attempt. Just got a notification saying I’ve made a payment of £899.99 to ESET NOD32.
