Someone posing as David Sharp got in touch, claiming he could assist me with some McAfee troubles I was experiencing. He ended up installing remote access software on my computer and then charged me £141 for the ‘service’.

I recently had an encounter with this telephone number, believing I was speaking to a representative from Norton internet security. However, I later realised that it was someone pretending to be affiliated with that company. I found the number while searching for their official helpline online, which I now understand is a mistake, as scammers exploit that to deceive unsuspecting individuals.

Despite my initial reservations about the conversation, I was misled into thinking it was authentic. A significant red flag arose when the caller reached out to me unprompted, which is not typical behaviour for Norton. They never initiate calls without a request for assistance.

Steer clear of this one, and let’s all do our part to ensure this individual is brought to justice.
