"I just received a so-called 'urgent' call claiming that my Windows licence has run out. I barely let them get more than a word in before I hung up! We’re completely offline at home, and my PHONE serves as my only means of getting anything done. It's a blatant scam, plain and simple!"

Received a call labelled “Emergency Call” supposedly from Microsoft. It follows the same annoying pattern as others I've encountered. They claimed my Windows license had expired, yet I don’t even use Windows! Just brushed it off and ended the call.

They wanted me to press 1 to sort it out – I promptly hung up! But honestly, I dread to think how many people fall for this and could end up facing hefty charges.

It's most likely tied to some dodgy premium rate number or could even be a ruse for computer hijacking or credit card fraud. Whatever you do, steer clear of it!"
