The number first got in touch with me back in Dec 2025, claiming to be from Zone firewall. When I asked for more info, they suddenly got quite rude, so I just ended the call. They didn’t stop calling though; they also used another number, 08000485987. For a few days they kept ringing, but I didn’t answer, and they eventually stopped. However, the calls started again on 25th Jan 2026, with them calling once or twice a day. I haven’t answered any of these recent calls.

Somebody called me from 08000418066, but since the number was unfamiliar, I didn’t pick up. Later, they left a voicemail claiming to be from an IT firm and asked me to ring them back. When I listened to the message, something about the way they spoke just felt off and suspicious. Just a heads up - watch out for that number!

Since coming back from my holidays in mid June, I've had quite a few calls from people insisting I owe a licence fee of about £166 for my computer. They’re really pushing to sort it out as soon as I got back!

If a number I don’t recognise calls me and lets my phone ring just enough to hear part of my unique ringtone then ends the call, I block them straight away. Proper callers always ring back the right way if it’s important. Easy as that.

Just got a call from 080004180066, and this bloke on the other end was going on about some Windriver 2 installation, claiming I'd already paid £79. I have no clue what he was talking about, so I ended the call sharpish. No sign of him calling again since, thankfully. Sounds like another dodgy scam to me.

I reckon this number is linked to a group that scammed me a while back. They've made a few attempts to nick my info since then and even managed to lock up my computer. Honestly, don’t trust them at all!

Received a call purporting to be from Canon customer service, they went on about supposed issues with my computer. They were pushing their Driver and PC support packages ranging from £49.99 up to a whopping £200 for lifetime assistance with repairs. They offer to access your computer and "fix" your problems and drivers. Take heed; I fell victim to this and lost £149.99 on services that turned out to be a complete sham. Steer clear of these numbers: 0-800-048-5987 and 0-800-041-8066-do NOT engage with them!

Last week I got a call from someone claiming to be from ZoneFirewall, said they were helping me upgrade since I supposedly had their software. They somehow got remote access to my PC, but the moment I realised what was going on, I just switched the computer off straight away. The guy definitely wasn't pleased. Total con artist in my opinion.

I've just had a rather frustrating experience concerning my HP printer and their Driver Update Tool. I wasted a good twenty minutes fiddling around, uninstalling bits and bobs from my computer, only to have them install a load of dodgy HP software. Luckily, my web guru reached out just in time, and I managed to unplug everything. What a right con! I’d come across the number, thinking it was the real deal with HP. They sounded incredibly convincing at first-starting off their spiel from Miami, then transferring to someone in India. An hour later, after I reconnected everything, they were back on the line again! So I’ve had to block their number as well. What a racket!

I received a call purporting to be from Canon's support team after I accidentally clicked on a dodgy support site, mistaking it for the real deal. They seemed to offer genuine assistance, likely trying to hook me in, and proceeded to pitch a discounted support plan. My instincts kicked in, and I decided to investigate the number that had come through. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

I attempted to seek assistance with setting up my Cricut machine the other day. I engaged in a chat conversation that I naively assumed was with an official Cricut representative. They took remote control of my laptop and insisted there were multiple problems that required fixing. Before I knew it, I was handed over to another individual who supposedly would ‘rectify’ these issues. Now, my laptop won’t power on at all. Honestly, steer clear of these individuals! I’m out a hundred quid and will now have to enlist a professional to sort out my laptop troubles. I feel utterly foolish for falling for this scam. I won't be caught out like this again!

I recently received a call from someone purporting to be from Canon support, shortly after I attempted to install drivers for my brand-new printer. I inadvertently granted them access to my laptop, and after about twenty minutes of them rummaging through my files, they rang me back claiming that I lacked a valid Windows licence. They offered to sort it out for me - but for a price, of course. The three options they presented ranged from £99 to £150. They also warned me that my network was unsecured, implying I was at serious risk of a cyber attack. I can't help but feel utterly foolish for having allowed them access to my computer in the first place.

Utterly dodgy! Steer clear of this lot; they're just after your money! McAfee keeps pestering me for cash to sort my computer issues, yet it isn’t functioning on my machine at all. They want you to leave your device on for ages-around 40 minutes, they claim-before telling you to reject their offer and hanging up. Don’t be fooled into believing you're dealing with the real McAfee; it’s all just a sham to get your hard-earned cash.

While I was in the midst of setting up McAfee on my device, I encountered a loading issue. Almost simultaneously, my phone rang from this number, with someone claiming to be from McAfee support. Strangely, this is like déjà vu, as it occurred around this time last year too. Thankfully, I caught on just in time and recognised it as a scam when these so-called technicians requested a payment of £165. Oddly enough, I’ve had a similar experience with someone pretending to be from Norton.

The other day while I was attempting to install McAfee, I encountered a loading error. Shortly after, I received a phone call from this number, with someone claiming to represent McAfee. I ended up allowing him remote access to my computer, and he explained that the issue was linked to the Asprox Botnet. He then suggested that it could be resolved for a fee of £129.
