Got a voicemail saying it was from Three about a problem with my account. I decided to get in touch with Three through their official website instead of calling the number on the message (03333000232). Turns out, Three said it wasn’t them and my account is fine.

1. This is a real Three number. 2. It’s possible for this number to be faked when they ring you. 3. Three don’t actually take credit card details over the phone; you enter them yourself using the keypad. 4. For security, they use your name and postcode to make sure you’re the account holder. 5. You can ask them to add a password to your account for extra protection. 6. I’m not an employee, just a customer, so this info is from my experience. 7. If you ain’t with Three, just ignore the call. If you are, feel free to have a chat. The staff are genuine.

Supposedly it's from THREE NETWORKS PAYMENT TEAM. I've gotten loads of calls from this number and others that look alike. Even after blocking them, they still manage to leave voicemails asking me to call back and pay by phone. There's no way I'm giving out my card info over the phone to anyone!!

A bloke with an Indian accent called, claiming to be from Three. He asked for my birth date, which I refused to give. Then he switched to asking for my password. Again, I said no and he muttered a bit before hanging up. Don’t share any info, it’s clearly a scam.

This is the second time I've had a call from someone claiming to be from 3 - but I dont even have a 3 number. The guy was pretty pushy, wanting to verify some personal info for a 'security check'. I told him straight up "No mate, this is a scam" but he just kept going and then suddenly cut the call. Watch out, this bloke is real sly.

They told me their records show they never called me! I've now reported it to Three's fraud team and blocked that number.

Got a call from what claimed to be Three’s call centre saying I owed some money. I’ve never had Three mobile at all, so it’s definitely not legit. I even tried talking to them, thinking maybe it was a mistake, and asked them to take my number off their call list, which they should legally do under GDPR. But nope, the calls just kept coming. Ended up blocking the number now.

SCAM ALERT! This number rang me five times over two days, so I reached out to Three myself. They said they never phone from a number that’s not recognised and confirmed this number isn’t linked to them in any way. Anyone saying it’s Three chasing payments is either unlucky enough to have been conned or could actually be the con artists. If you’re unsure about a caller pretending to be from a company, always get in touch with that company straight away.

Loads of people saying it’s just ‘payment collections’ and all is fine, but I reckon those are sneaky scammers pretending to be honest. Honestly, it’s a total scam - if Three genuinely wanted to get money off you, they’d send you a proper letter in the post.

3. Trying to get the last payment sorted even tho my account was shut down. My old card was no good anymore since it’d expired. Honestly, some of the other complaints sound a bit daft to me. I just asked what other ways to pay there were, and they gave me the direct number for 3 payments. If you’re worried about anything, just hang up and ring that number instead.

Got a scammer ringing both mine and my wife’s mobiles (both on 3) loads last week, trying to get passwords and the final 4 digits of our bank accounts. When I started asking questions, they just ended the call. I rang 3 myself and they said it’s not one of their legitimate numbers. Plus, since it’s an 08000, it might even be premium rate to call back. They’ve now blocked the number at the network level, which is better because if we block it on our phones, calls could still get through and we’d miss messages.
