Sounds like Tesco Mobile trying to tempt folks to change their current plan by throwing in some perks. From what I gather, if you’ve had a Tesco contract from before Brexit, you can still use data roaming in Europe without extra charges. But once you move to a new contract made after Brexit, that free roaming disappears since it was tied to EU membership. So, I’d say it’s best to just brush off Tesco’s tempting offers.

I work at Tesco Mobile and this number belongs to our outbound team who contact customers about their accounts, especially if your contract is nearing its end or you’re now on a rolling monthly plan. I see loads of people asking about this number, and our managers have confirmed that it’s a genuine call from our team. They’ll never ask for any bank details, just simple security info that you provided when signing up - the same sort of questions you’d answer if you rang us or popped into a store.

I just got a call from this number. At first, I thought it was legit because my contract's nearly up. It smelt like a classic bank scam to me - no proper bank would ask you to talk about your account like that over the phone, let alone ask for your banking or personal info. Supposedly from Tesco - looks like they might have had their system breached before cos that's probably how they got hold of our numbers. I just spoke to Tesco Help through their app and they said they never call or message about account upgrades. This has got scam written all over it. If it was legit and scammers wanted to make it look like it was from a real company, they'd probably be on these forums telling everyone it’s NOT a scam. Funny how some comments here totally contradict others about this number. Seems like some people have a reason to defend it. My tip? Just hang up and ring your provider yourself to check if it was them. They'll confirm straight away and then you can be sure.

Yeah, this number is really from TESCO MOBILE OUTBOUND team, they ring you up to chat about your plans when your contract’s ending or has ended.
