What really got me was that they somehow used an old bank card that’s no longer active. I went straight to my bank afterwards, and they helped me sort the mess out. They connected me with the Halifax disputes team and gave me a number to ring, 08000294639. When I called, the guy explained everything clearly, saying they’d fix up my laptop and refund the money - but only if I paid £179 plus VAT upfront. I told them I couldn’t afford that, and then he just ended the call. Now I’m stuck with no solution.Halifax9 yearsI called this number after noticing some odd transactions on my bank account. I also looked up the company and found they’re registered as UK Network Experts Ltd, based at 88 Cornwall Rd, Birmingham, B20 2HZ. They've been on record since November 2017.
