My lad got locked out of his computer and it was all a mess after that. He called the number given, and they said they’d sort it for £250. When he said he couldn’t pay, they dropped it down to £150. He hung up quick after realising it was dodgy - never thought these scams were real until now. He ran Spybot and thankfully, everything seems alright now. The dodgy number that called was 08000291874. What a load of rubbish.

A warning popped up saying my IP address was being used without authorisation, and it told me to ring the number shown, just like others mentioned here. I freaked out and called it, only to find out pretty quickly it was a scam. I hung up straight away, but they called me back and I just ignored it. After a bit of hassle, I finally shut the pop-up down and ran a security check. Everything seemed alright, but just to be safe, I deleted some important files from my laptop.

My computer got locked with some popup and it gave me a number to ring. When I called, they said they could sort it out but would charge £250. I said I wasn't interested, then they dropped the price to £150 if they'd fix it remotely. I had a look at the website on the popup - something like dailywebshecdulari### - couldn’t even spell properly! I just ended the task from the task manager and ran spybot search & destroy. Everything’s fine now. Don't call that number, it's a scam!

I got a call from another number, but they left this one for me to ring back. They were asking about updates on our emails. Sounds like they haven’t managed to get malware through. There’s something fishy connected to a PC attack, and a funding link that points to Haloteck in Singapore. The phone call was a weird mix of pushing and threatening. Definitely stay clear of these!

I got a pop-up that said my PC was being attacked, claiming it was from Windows. It warned me that if I shut down my computer, I'd risk viruses and identity theft. There was a number on the page so I rang it, and a dodgy sounding bloke answered. He asked for some code shown on the screen, which I naively gave him. Then he told me to switch off my computer and only turn it back on after half an hour. I didn’t follow that bit, thankfully, so fingers crossed everything’s fine - no issues so far.

A weird popup suddenly showed up on my screen telling me to ring this number. When I called, some random voice picked up. I'd say avoid calling it. Also, if it happens to you, just use the task manager to shut the popup down.

Don’t answer if this number rings you - they’re scammers. I let them take control of my PC after a call, thinking it was legit. Thankfully, they didn’t seem to install any dodgy software or swipe personal details, but they defo wanted money to 'fix' some supposed problem. Luckily I wasn’t daft enough to fall for their tricks.

My laptop suddenly showed a scary alert saying I’d been hacked and telling me to ring this number {800 029 1874. Don’t get tricked by it! Just shut the tab down straight away. If that doesn’t work, try quitting the whole app. And if that still won’t close, then open the task manager on Windows and force it to quit from there. Stay safe!

So my laptop started showing some dodgy porn stuff and kept saying I had a virus. It told me to call 08000291874 to get help from “Windows” to fix it. Just like someone else mentioned, the phone line sounded rubbish and the caller didn’t speak English with a proper accent at all. They wanted me to pay £299 to supposedly clean and protect my laptop. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

So my computer got compromised, all these flashing messages popped up and it seemed like someone was copying my files. The screen said my computer was locked and claimed it was from Microsoft. They told me to ring 08000292874. I gave it a go but the line was terrible, the person speaking had a thick accent, and the questions they asked made no sense, so I just hung up and unplugged my PC from the internet. Later, I checked with Microsoft and that number wasn’t theirs at all. Luckily, my computer started acting normal again after that.
