I had a chap named 'Jake' ring me up from the Bank of Scotland, asking if I could get back to him about a refund they were supposed to process into my account. He mentioned that if I didn’t return his call, he’d drop a letter in the post. Well, it’s been a while now, and I’ve still not seen any sign of that letter!

I got a letter through the post claiming to be from Bank of Scotland, saying I had a loan refund waiting. It was supposedly from some Customer Services Solution Centre with a PO Box in Cardiff. The letter asked me to ring their helpline to sort things out. It looked proper official at first glance! But since I haven’t had anything to do with BoS recently, I instantly thought it was a scam and didn’t bother getting in touch.

So, I got a letter in the post with a cheque tucked inside it. On the envelope was this number, and when I rang it, all I got was a single beep. Not sure what that was about, but I ended up taking both the letter and the cheque to my local bank branch, and they said everything was legit.

Got a letter supposedly from Bank of Scotland with this number to call straight away. I’ve never opened an account or taken any loan out with them, so it seemed odd. The letter looked proper but I decided to check the number before ringing. Phew, glad I did because it turns out it’s probably a scam.

I got a call from this number earlier today. They left a voicemail saying I should ring them back about a refund from Royal Bank of Scotland. They mentioned the last four numbers of an account and gave a case reference to mention. Thing is, I’ve never held an RBS account, and those numbers don’t match anything of mine. Didn’t bother calling back since it smelt like a scam to me.
