This number is definitely from Lloyds customer service, located in Cardiff. I got a call from another number (03456062172) and they left a voicemail asking me to ring the 0800 number about a refund for credit card overcharges. They did say the last four digits of my account, which were right. Plus, I’d already got a cheque and a letter through the post before I got that call. So yeah, this number is legit.

Someone rang me claiming they were from Bank of Scotland saying I had a refund pending and asked me to ring 08000271312. I got in touch with the real Bank of Scotland number and they told me they never called me.

I recently received a letter that purported to be from Lloyds regarding a cheque. It included my name, date of birth, and address, claiming I was due a refund of £200. I rang them once and, surprise surprise, no cheque arrived. I phoned a second time and was told it was supposedly dispatched yesterday, even though this letter has been hanging about for over a month now. It's all quite suspect, if you ask me!

Its the Lloyds Bank refund team, 100% legit. I rang Lloyds Bank fraud dept myself and they confirmed it’s real. If ur unsure, just give them a call like I did. I’m expecting a refund cheque in the post soon.

I reached out to Lloyd's Direct, but they haven't got a clue regarding this number. It's definitely not related to them, that's for sure!

I got a letter from Lloyds saying to ring this number about a cheque I never got (no clue why they’d pay me). I contacted Lloyds directly, and they don’t know anything about this number or letter. PLEASE DO NOT RING IT TO CHECK IF IT’S REAL!!! Always use a phone number you know is legit, like the one on the back of your bank card. These scammers are really good at looking official. This is definitely a scam!

Yeah it’s for real, Lloyds customer care. Got a letter earlier today, popped down to the bank and rang the 0800 number they gave me to double check, and they confirmed it was legit. They said I’m due a £345 refund for paying too much on my overdraft fees. I recently got a letter that pretended to be from Lloyd’s bank, claiming they'd dispatched a cheque for a rather hefty refund. Naturally, I decided to reach out to Lloyd’s customer service directly-not via the number mentioned-and they were completely unaware of any such refund. They even concurred that it appeared to be a scam, especially since that phone number isn’t affiliated with them. I haven’t actually rung it myself, but the whole thing strikes me as quite dodgy.

Lloyds Fraud team DONT have any record of this number being linked to Lloyds or the original number they say they’re calling from 01903 768 600 (which they claim is only for outbound calls). Tell them you’ll ring back, then check with Lloyds yourself. If it’s a genuine call, there’ll be a note on your account saying someone from their dept phoned you and you asked to get back in touch. No note means it’s a scam. Anyone claiming this is legit is clearly involved in the con.

Lloyds is actually giving out refunds, this isnt a scam so take it seriously. Dont just settle for the first refund offer, challenge the past fees by lodging an official complaint. If they refuse, contact the FOS! Accepting the first refund will make them close your case as part of their conditions.

Totally a scam, I rang Lloyds fraud dept after getting a letter saying I was due a refund from an old account. They said they’d never send letters asking for your info like that. The phone number isn’t connected to Lloyds at all. These scammers just want your personal details.

This is the Lloyds customer service support line. I called their fraud department after getting a letter to double-check, and they said it was genuine.
