I got a call from this number and a woman said I’d rung her like 15 times the day before, telling me to stop calling. Thing is, I hadn’t even dialled her once! Got a call from this number at about 8:15 this morning. The bloke said he was ringing from PIP. I told him I usually get a text before any calls like that. He claimed he had sent one around 7 minutes earlier, but I didn't receive anything. I told him I didn't want to continue the chat. Then he said he'd send another text and would ring back. I said alright and ended the call. Up until now, no messages or calls have come through. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Not sure who this guy was but he was really nasty and insisted I give him my national insurance number. He kept saying I’d requested a callback from ESA, which I definitely hadn’t. Then he claimed I called them the day before, which isn’t true either. Actually, I did ring them about two hours earlier and sorted everything out during that call. Weird experience!

Looks like it's just a DWP call centre ringing out, but annoying enough both times they've phoned our business (not a private number) we’ve been out driving. They never leave a voicemail so there's no way to ring them back and find out why they're calling. One of our employees has had trouble with Universal Credit messing up their wage details even though our payroll and tax reports are spot on. Also, somehow our number got given as the contact for an elderly client whose family lives abroad, which might explain the random calls.

So this number called me once and just hung up straight away. Then a bit later they called back, I picked up and there was a woman shouting loudly before they dropped the call. That number really is from DWP, but these days fraudsters can fake even official numbers to trick folks. Just be careful when strangers ring you up.
