However, when it rang again, I decided to take the plunge and answer. It turned out to be a woman from the Department for Work and Pensions reaching out for additional details regarding my Employment and Support Allowance claim. The call seemed genuine enough.

I put in a request for PIP around two months ago, yet I’m still awaiting any sort of response. Strangely, on the very day when I was due to be contacted about my Universal Credit claim, I received a phone call that appeared to be from PIP. Coincidentally, my work coach rang me using the same phone number, and we had a standard interview. However, she didn’t explain why she was using a PIP contact number. Could it be that my work coach is somehow meddling with my PIP application, or are we perhaps seeing some sort of organised wrongdoing within the DWP aimed at depriving folks of their rightful benefits? It simply baffles me that I could receive a call from PIP without any clarification or information regarding my potential award.

My mum picked up the call, but they disconnected before she could say anything.

They claimed to be representatives from the tax office, HMRC.

I didn't manage to have a proper chat before being abruptly disconnected. When I redialled, I was greeted by a voicemail message from U Credit, saying there's no need for me to do anything and they'll reach out again if it really matters. Seems a bit dodgy if you ask me!
