Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin, saying my internet was at risk. I asked them to prove it by giving me my name, address, and account details, but they just told me to f*ck off. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call too, some robotic voice telling me that my Verizon line test had gone through alright or something like that. Felt just like what another user mentioned here.

I got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent, saying he was from Microsoft. He wanted me to mess around with my computer, but I got annoyed and just hung up on him. Then he rang back and started calling me a loser, claiming I’d never find him. The first time he called, the number was hidden, but the second call came from 0207 950 0788. I tried calling that number back, and it connected me to Horizon Business at 0800 018 8000.

Got a ring from an 0207 earlier, then they sent me onto this site which ended up pointing me towards an 0870 number that I couldn’t even call. If they try again with an 0207, I’m definitely asking to speak to their data manager to see how they got hold of my details.

I got a call from these guys and honestly, what a bunch of rubbish. If they ring you, just block the number straight away.

I had a pretty much identical call to the one mentioned before, except this time, the caller said it was Horizon.

I got a call from this number with a robotic voice saying my Verizon line test had passed (totally fake). It then gave me another number to ring for details, 0800 018 8000. When I dialled that, another automated message said that number was about to be shut down and to try 0870 870 4334 instead. I phoned that, only to hear a basic recorded message saying "Verizon no longer offers this service" - and it was the exact same voice as from 0207-950-0856!

I had a rather dodgy experience with a firm associated with Verizon. It appears that they intercept calls from various carriers and try to lure you into switching your line to them. Quite the shady tactic, if you ask me!
