Im pretty sure this was a scam call. I rang Natwest’s fraud team and they confirmed there’s no weird activity on my account at all. They told me they only send a text straight to your phone if there’s an issue, asking you to ring them back. Then they ask some security questions to check it’s really you. The number 08000014355 is fake, so don’t respond to any recorded messages or call any numbers they give you. If you’re worried, just call the NatWest number on the back of your bank card yourself.

I just got a call from this number and earlier received a text claiming to be from Natwest - both seem really dodgy to me. The voice on the call told me to press 1, so I did, but then nothing happened and it kept telling me to ring back. Feels proper fishy. And to make it worse, Natwest’s fraud reporting is bloody useless, so these scammers are just having a field day!

I rang the number back and it was definitely linked to the credit card I have with Natwest. An automated voice went through some menu options, called me by my correct name and asked me to pick my birth year, then to confirm the day and month. It then read out the places and amounts where I'd used my card and asked if everything was right. For me, it was, so I confirmed. I wasn’t aware my card had been blocked, but at the end it said it wasn’t ready for use again yet. It felt legit, didn’t ask for my card details, address or anything private.

Got a call from this number today after I got a couple of texts just before about some suspicious activity on my Amazon card. The voicemail said it was from Nat West Fraud Team telling me to ring them back. But the phone is a work mobile, the number’s not connected to any bank, and I’ve never had an account with Nat West anyway.

Yep, this is a call from Nat West for sure. I got a message too, listing the transactions I'd done to check if it was actually me using my card. Just to be safe, I rang the number on the back of my card to double check it was legit.

Just got done checking and it turns out it really was the Fraud Department at Nat West, not some scammer. I rang the number on the back of my card and they told me they did ring me yesterday. Thought i'd share in case it helps anyone else.

someone rang claiming to be from the nat west fraud team. i called the bank back using the number on the back of my card just to be sure, and they told me everything was legit.

The individuals on the other end insisted they were part of the Natwest Fraud team, notifying me about potential fraudulent activity linked to my account, and they urged me to return their call without delay. However, I chose not to ring them back. Instead, I dialled a Natwest number I was already familiar with. To my relief, there was nothing wrong with my account, and I made sure to ask that my concerns regarding the 0800-001-4355 number be recorded in Natwest's system for future reference.
