Got a call from someone saying they were HMRC, they said they’d sent us some papers but they got sent back. Felt like a scam so I just ended the call.

I picked up but no one spoke, then the call just ended. I reckon these rings are totally random, like some automated program trying to figure out which numbers are active. Even if you pick up and then block, I’d bet your number just gets passed around to other scammers who know it’s a working line. Just a guess, but it makes sense to me.

At first, they said they were from Vodafone, but as soon as I told them I wasn’t a Vodafone customer, they switched it up and said they were working with a different network. Didn’t buy it for a second.

All I could hear was some rustling of papers and general background noise from what sounded like an office, but nobody actually said a word. After having a quick look at the reviews here, I decided to block the number and just ended the call.

Got a call earlier with a recorded message saying there were two charges on my bank account, one was £700 and the other was £2000. It told me to press 1 if I wanted to confirm or press 2 to chat with someone. I just ended the call.

I got a call from some machine saying I’d been caught up in tax fraud and evasion stuff, and unless I coughed up cash, they were taking me straight to court. Totally made up!
