Absolute scam! I had six calls before midday today alone. Each time, it was an automated voice claiming there’s some dodgy goings-on with my internet. They prompt you to hit 1 for further details, and then it connects you to someone purporting to be from BT. They mention there’s supposed criminal activity linked to my connection and claim to be associated with BT, Sky, and a bunch of other firms. What's more, they use a variety of numbers, including ones that begin with 0208. The usual ploy starts with a call where they hang up briefly to 'check the line' before ringing back to unleash their scam. Whatever you do, don't divulge any personal details! We dealt with it by demanding they provide the full name registered to the account and the service provider they’re supposedly representing. Unsurprisingly, they can't produce this information and usually hang up when you mention you've reported them.
