Somebody called me claiming their car had smashed into mine, which is hilarious since I don’t even own a car or drive!

Got a call supposedly from “my bank,” warning that £600 was about to be taken out and to press one to stop it. An elderly family member nearly fell for it and ended up installing teamviewer so they could “check” his computer. Luckily, he doesn’t use online banking, so they couldn’t do much. But after that, all of his contacts started receiving similar calls.

I just decided to block the number.

I picked up but no one said a word, then I checked and it showed up as a return call on a different phone I have. Weird.

I think these are just scam calls again. They ring me loads of times each day from different mobile and landline numbers around Sheffield, never bothering to leave a voicemail. They always claim to be from HMRC or some cab company. It feels like harassment, and honestly, BT ought to block these numbers once and for all.
