I got a recorded message claiming it was from HMRC and Customs, saying I owed back taxes. They warned me I’d be taken to court if I didn’t pay up immediately. Honestly, if this was real - which it definitely isn’t - HMRC would’ve sent a proper letter, not some random voice message out of the blue. I can only imagine how scary this must be for older folks who aren’t used to these types of calls.
