Got a call on 29/2/24 from a number I didn't know, so I just let it ring out. After having a look at the reviews here, looks like it’s dodgy, so I’m definitely blocking it now - seems like a scam to me!

I saw a missed call from an unknown number and decided to ring it back. When I did, a man's voice recording said that if I'd gotten a call from him, it was a scam and he wasn’t the one actually calling. Pretty weird!

So this woman rings up sayin' she’s some kind of energy expert for my area and asks if I own my place. When I said yes, she seemed pretty chuffed her info was right. Then she tries to pitch me fibreglass insulation for my attic. I had to tell her I live in a 20-floor block with no attic at all, so clearly she’s got the wrong details. Needless to say, I’ve blocked the number now.

Honestly, ringing back numbers you don't know is just asking for trouble. It might be some wangiri scam or something similar. These crooks just throw out millions of random numbers, so a lot of the time the number you call could be a completely innocent person’s. That’s what happened with this one! Or worse, you might actually get through to a proper crook. Best just to leave unknown calls alone.

Got a call from a woman who started asking loads of personal stuff about my loft. I asked her what property she meant, and she said the one I’m living in. So I asked her for the address, and then she just hung up. She did not sound pleased at all. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were 'your local energy expert', sounded northern though I'm down here in Southampton. Could be legit but after reading the other reviews, it seems like a con. They kept ringing non stop. I usually try to be nice but eventually had to just cut the call. Number’s blocked now. What’s the deal with the TPS nowadays? Doesn’t look like it’s doing much against these sorts of calls...

I had a rather distressing chat with a lady the other day. She presented herself as an energy specialist from the area and was eager to set up a free survey for loft insulation. Her accent was distinctly foreign, and I couldn’t help but notice the cacophony of voices in the background, which led me to suspect she was operating out of a call centre. Not a pleasant experience, to say the least!
