I received a text from this number telling me to ring Orange on 150, which is their dedicated line for customers. Once I managed to get through to their team, they confirmed that it’s indeed an Orange number, but they couldn't find any trace of the message I received. Absolutely pointless!

This call came from the collections team of Orange (I’ve tagged it as a debt collector, which isn't entirely off the mark). When you receive a message urging you to call this number, it does seem rather legitimate, despite the obvious attempts to disguise it as a phishing scam - the sender differs from the usual Orange texts, and they provide a mobile number instead of the standard 150 or similar shortcodes. One can only assume it’s down to their incompetence, although I must admit, I’m not sure if anyone operates any better. What a bother!

I received a message that appeared to be from the Orange debt collection team (I've classified it as a ring-type debt collector, which isn’t exactly off the mark). When I got a text asking me to call this number, it seemed quite legitimate at first glance. However, it became evident that they were doing their utmost to mimic a phishing scheme (the sender differed from the usual Orange texts, and instead of the standard 150 or similar shortcodes, they provided a mobile number to call). Presumably, this is down to their lack of intelligence, though I can’t say I’ve encountered anyone more competent either. What a bother, honestly.
