middle of the night i got a text saying i’d missed a parcel payment or something, had a link to a site that looked like royal mail but was totally dodgy, asking for loads of personal info. i’d heard before that royal mail warned folks about these scams, and today they put out another warning saying they never send messages like that. they told everyone to report suspicious texts to action fraud. the ctsi mentioned how scammers are taking advantage of loads of people waiting on deliveries because of lockdown, and they advised to always ring royal mail first before handing over any cash.

Got this text in the middle of the night saying I owed money on a parcel delivery. The message included a link to a website that looked exactly like Royal Mail’s but was clearly a fake, asking for all my personal info. I remember Royal Mail has warned about these scams before.
