It's definitely a con. I got a call saying there were a couple of charges on my card today - didn't say which card though - one was something like £300 at Amazon and another unknown one. They told me to press 1 to fix it or press 2 to talk to an agent. I'm pretty sure these fraudsters change their phone numbers all the time to stay under the radar.
