07944893002 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 07944893002 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number linked to fraudulent calls impersonating companies like Amazon, Microsoft, BT, Virgin Media, Sky, and Visa. Callers often use automated messages or fake representatives claiming issues such as account fraud, subscription renewals, or internet problems to extract personal or financial details. Voices frequently have foreign accents, and calls typically hang up when challenged. Many users advise not to answer, never to press buttons or provide information, and to block the number. These calls cause distress and are a common form of harassment despite efforts to register with the Telephone Preference Service. Reporting such calls to providers and UK authorities is strongly recommended to help combat these scams effectively.

RECORDING RECEIVED I was informed that my internet connection was supposedly involved in unlawful activities, and that legal consequences were imminent. I was prompted to press a certain key to be connected to BT's security team, who would assist me in averting such legal proceedings. Naturally, I’ve now added this number to my block list using the brilliant BT Call Guardian that BT offers for my line.

I had a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft security. He introduced himself as "James" and had a distinct Indian accent. He insisted I verify my name and address and inquired whether I was the primary user of my computer, all while stating he had access to all my personal data! I couldn't help but chuckle and retorted, “Oh, so you’re from Microsoft security, are you?” before promptly ending the call!

I tend to steer clear of picking up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. However, I always make it a point to do a bit of digging afterwards. If I come across any negative feedback about a particular number, I won’t hesitate to block it right away. This one’s been added to my blocked list!

I think they used a fake number because the call came from “Prime” with one of those automated messages. Feels like it's connected to some pricey premium line. These scammers are just awful!

I got a call earlier from someone claiming to be Sky, saying there was a problem with our internet and they could fix it. My partner picked it up and asked me to have a look, since I work in IT. When I looked up the number, it struck me as dodgy and sure enough, it's listed as a scam. Plus, Sky never rings from a mobile, especially not one on EE! Definitely a scam.

Yesterday I got a call that went on ringing forever, I barely managed to answer it. When I finally did, there was this robotic voice talking about some bank security check but never named my bank - total scam alert right there. It mentioned two payments that were supposedly made from my account to AMAZXON for £300 and £500. Then today, I was slow to answer, but it kept ringing for a solid minute. That was another big red flag. I guessed it was the same scam gang trying their luck again, so I didn’t pick up. Checked the missed call and, unsurprisingly, it was the exact same number.

I tend to avoid answering calls from numbers I don't recognise nowadays. If it’s important, they usually leave a voicemail. Since these people didn’t leave anything, I’m pretty sure they’re scammers like others have mentioned. If I had answered and they claimed to be from Amazon, that’d be a dead giveaway it’s dodgy - Amazon normally contacts you by email, not phone.

Beware of fraudulent phone calls claiming to be from Amazon. These scammers may leave a pre-recorded message informing you that your Amazon Prime membership has expired and you will be charged £95. The message will prompt you to press 1 to speak to a representative. However, it is advisable to simply hang up or ignore such calls.

Got a call just after 8 in the morning, I was right next to the phone and answered straight away, just as it was ringing for the first time. Got a call from someone saying they were from Sky and that I'd been charged too much on my phone bill. Problem is, I'm not even a Sky customer! The moment I told him that, he just hung up on me. Definitely seems like a scam, so watch out!

Got a call on my home phone. When I picked up, there was a bit of a pause before a lady with a strong foreign accent started talking, but she was really hard to understand. After a while, I figured she claimed to be from BT, saying something about my broadband signal being bad. I didn’t say much and she just hung up. It all seemed a bit dodgy to me. Looks like your site backs up what I was thinking.

This definitely feels like one of those Microsoft scam calls. I got a ring from 01725 525 435, some bloke with an Indian accent telling me my PC was showing loads of errors. I pretended not to understand a few times just to waste his time, which annoyed him, and he said he’d call back. Sure enough, for the next few minutes, I got almost twenty calls from different numbers like 01865 647755, 07883 847642, 01405 740803 and quite a few others. They were ringing nonstop, probably hoping to catch me off guard. A total nightmare!

Got a call from 07944893002 but didn't pick up. No voicemail or anything so I just figured it was probably some sort of scam. Best to ignore these kinds of random numbers anyway.

Someone rang claiming to be from BT, telling me my internet was being hacked. He then wanted me to check my laptop with him. I played along for a bit before hanging up, but they called straight back, yelling and swearing all over the phone. What a nightmare!

In just 20 minutes I got two calls giving me the same spiel. One came from an Edinburgh number, 01314494147, talking about some international money transfer thing, and then another one from an Amazon number, 07944893002. Does the TPS even bother with these? I mean, 0131 numbers are run by BT, right? Seems like nothing’s being done.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from Amazon's fraud team. Seemed a bit dodgy to me, especially when they asked for personal info out of nowhere. Definitely don’t trust these kind of calls unless you’ve contacted the company yourself first. Quite annoying how these scammers are getting more clever.

Got a call claiming to be from BT Openreach saying there’s an issue with my phone line. They asked if I’d noticed anything wrong, I said no, then the caller just hung up. This has happened three times over the past day, each time they disconnect after I answer. First time they asked me to do a speed test but cut off before I could. Feels like a scam to me - they purposely drop the call mid-conversation so when they ring back you start doubting your line. Bit fishy if you ask me.

Since I work with Microsoft solutions, I knew right away that a genuine caller wouldn't be ringing from a mobile number. So when the guy called me on my mobile about my computer, I said I'd be reporting him. He ended up just hanging up straight away.

Calls from this number usually come through between 9 and 10 in the morning, a couple of times a week. It always goes straight to voicemail so I never pick up. I've attempted to block it multiple times, but somehow it keeps getting through. On one occasion, my husband picked up by mistake. The caller claimed to be from Amazon and said someone was purchasing pricey goods with his account. They then asked him to click a link to refund the money. He thankfully didn't fall for it! Watch out for this number and the tricks they try to pull. 🙄
