I received two missed calls from this number, so I decided to give it a ring. A lady answered and claimed she hadn’t called me. But if that’s the case, then why is her number showing up on my phone? It’s rather peculiar, if you ask me.

Got a call about the Omicron PCR test after been near someone with covid. Proper annoying as three people I work with have just come back positive so figured I should get tested. Ended up on a dodgy NHS-looking webpage which seemed legit at first, but then it asked me to put in card details to pay. You’d think gov.uk would sort this straight away but nope, nothing done. Absolute rubbish from overseas scammers! These relentless calls and messages need to be tackled immediately. I’d suggest getting in touch with your local MP - you can find out how on the UK Parliament's official site. Tell them about the constant barrage of scam calls, text messages and emails trying to cheat us, and ask what steps the government is taking to block these fraudsters and catch the crooks behind it all. They usually reply properly, so it’s worth giving it a go.

I've seen loads of warnings here about this scam and the ways to avoid getting caught out. Still, some folks who aren’t up to date with the news end up falling for it and even click the dodgy links. We need to look out for these people and take action. I've tried to raise awareness, but it’s obvious it’ll need a lot more than just one person shouting to actually stop these scams from happening.
