Regarding my message from 23/7/19, I got in touch with Citizen Advice Manchester and they advised me to make a report at https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ with the mobile number and details of what took place. If more people do this, maybe they can put an end to it.

Scammers for sure! These people should be handled by the police and phone providers. The guy said he had my address and asked me to verify my bank info. I told him to give me his details first. Then he just ended the call.

Some bloke rang me earlier, called me by my last name. Claimed he was from some sort of Advice Dept, but wouldn’t say which firm. Said I owed money. So I said “Right, tell me more.” Then he goes “No, you tell me. I just have your name and phone.” I said, “That’s it?” and he just cut me off. Proper cheeky! Was just about to give him all me bank info too. What a tosser.

Got a call from an Asian bloke, my phone showed it was a mobile. When I asked, he claimed to be from Citizens Advice Manchester and said I owed money. I asked why Citizens Advice Manchester would be calling from a mobile, and he said it was a BT landline number. Played along for a bit, asking questions, then told him to jog on. He told me to f*** off, charming guy! Blocked him straight away.

Just received a call from this number claiming to offer debt consolidation. When I questioned him, he started getting rude and told me not to hang up. I did anyway and then he rang back threatening to "ruin my day". He even mentioned my house number and part of my postcode which was quite unsettling!

Like the others here, some bloke said he was from Citizens Advice and was ringing about my supposed unpaid debts. I asked him to specify which debts he meant, he named a few, but I told him I didn’t owe anything. Then he just hung up on me straight away.

Got a really rude bloke with an Asian accent calling, saying he was from Citizens Advice about my debts. Told him I wasn’t interested and hung up straight away. Then he kept ringing back like 5 more times in a row. When I finally picked up on the last call, he started shouting at me for not listening. I told him he was the one harassing me and I’d report him. Then he had the nerve to say I was harassing him because I wouldn’t let him talk! Ridiculous.

Got a call from a guy who sounded American or maybe Asian. He knew my name and said he was calling from Citizens Advice about a case they were checking for me. Then he mentioned something about unpaid debts. I told him I didn’t have any case with them and no debts owed, then just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from CAB, talking about my debts. She was foreign and hard to understand. I let her run through all the usual stuff, then she passed me to her boss, a guy with better English, who wanted to check the credit info I gave. Said he was from the money advice bureau. I called him out, saying she said she was with citizens advice bureau. Then the call just dropped. This number has called me before, I reckon they’ll try again. Tried ringing back but it just cuts off like it’s disconnected.

This afternoon, I got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent and her English was really hard to follow. She was insisting on speaking with me about some debt or unpaid bills. People are getting craftier lately, ringing me from different mobile numbers. I’ve had three calls today already! Luckily, my phone warns me these might be scams, so I just blocked them straight away. Glad I listened to that alert after reading what others have said here.

07938536742 answered by a rude guy with an American accent, asking for my husband by name. My hubby asked who was calling, and the bloke said he was from a credit agency and that we had bad credit and debts. My husband told him that was strange as he has no debts and had just checked his credit report which was spotless. The guy then hung up straight away!! I blocked and reported the number. These con artists could easily trick elderly people into giving away private info. Just so you know, no legit credit agency would ring you up like that or from a mobile phone!

So yesterday, I got a call from an Asian bloke on my mobile. This was how it went down. Man: Hello, is this… Me: Yes, what are you trying to sell me today? Man: I'm calling from the Dept Company (he said the name but I can't recall it). Me: I don’t owe any debt. Man: Do you even understand English? Me: Yes! I don’t have any debt. Man: You’re lying and I’ll send you paperwork in the post! Then he suddenly hung up. The number was 07938536742. I rang the police soon after, gave them all the info, and they told me to call back if I receive any letters.
