Had a call from this number, so I shot over a text in response. To my annoyance, it deducted from my bank instead of my message allowance because it's registered in Jersey (or the Channel Islands). It's absolutely daft that the UK permits numbers that appear local but charge us as if we're dialling overseas (OFCOM are a bunch of useless burdens on the taxpayers). Those enjoying the privileges of Channel Island living should be the ones to bear the costs for a distinct phone system! With today’s technology, it’s hardly a significant expense; there’s no need for all those archaic physical switches for what’s essentially just a logical number. Seriously, we're not living in the '50s anymore; it's 2016!

Got a call on my cell from a lady claiming to be with Price Lewis, supposedly checking up on a survey I never did, about an accident that never happened. I'm not even certain if the Price Lewis online is the same firm she mentioned. I told her straight up that the Information Commissioner’s Office will be looking into this soon. Keeping false info about someone and using it without their consent breaks at least a couple of data protection rules.
