Got a call from Ese today, they were acting like they were the insurance company for the solar panels on my mums home. They said she needed to buy insurance because the warranty had expired, even though she doesn’t actually own the panels. Trying to pressure an elderly lady into buying something she doesn’t need is awful. These guys are total scammers, please don’t deal with them or help them take advantage of older people. It isn’t needed - if your inverter breaks, it can be swapped out and prices keep getting cheaper. 1- Contact your installer first, if they're out of business try finding one nearby using the MCS database. 2- Don’t sign up for anything on the spot 3- Always check a company's status on a review or company rating site before committing.

We got a call from someone saying they were with ESE, telling us our 5 year solar panel warranty had ended. Our warranty is actually for 10 years and with a different company, so it was obvious they were trying to get us to buy unnecessary cover with them using false info. I got calls last Friday and again yesterday about my solar inverter’s maintenance period being over and that I have to pay €19.99 a month for insurance. This feels odd since my solar panels were installed for free back in 2012 and the whole setup is guaranteed for 25 years anyway. I’m really curious how they even got hold of my info, especially as they only ever call my mobile, which I’ve never shared. I asked her to send me the information by email, which arrived later that day. I can confirm this isn’t a scam at all. I’ve actually paid for two years’ maintenance at a fair price. Got a phone call from ESE saying my solar panel inverter warranty had expired. Even though I have solar panels, the only firm that’s got my mobile number is my FiT supplier, nPower. Plus, my inverter was installed in 2012 and has a ten-year manufacturer’s guarantee. This feels like a scam aimed at getting you to buy a fake warranty. As someone working in solar installations, I’d advise against paying for any cover. If your inverter ever fails, just get in touch with a local installer who can replace it affordably and provide a proper manufacturer’s warranty.

When I asked for their website, the woman on the phone, Laura, just ended the call. EME Services actually sell physiotherapy gear and are based in Manchester, so I don’t think this call had anything to do with them.
