Got a text from someone saying "it's Emma", said they tried calling but signal was rubbish. They claimed to be at the hospital after falling this morning and asked me to text back because they needed help. I looked up the number and turns out it’s a scam. Also, I don’t even know an Emma!

Just got a call fom Emma on my landline, but no one picked up when I tried ringing back. She said she’s been tryna reach me but the signal’s rubbish. Mentioned she’s in hospital after a fall this morning and asked if I could text her as she needs a favour. Bit worrying really.

Got a message from someone saying "its emma here, im alright but im stuck in hospital needing an operation. fell earlier today and broke some bones. text me if youre free x". Felt fishy so i just ignored it and blocked the number straight away. 100% scam in my opinion.

My sister got a text from someone called Emma saying she’d fallen down the stairs and badly hurt herself, needing urgent surgery with the time mentioned. The message said her phone was broken and she needed an O2 phone voucher and the code sent by text. It really freaked out the whole family since I’m actually called Emma too, so we thought it was real. I looked it up later and found replying could cost a fortune. Honestly, don’t reply or open anything from this number, it’s just a hassle!
