Just got a message saying “new payee alert” from some bloke named Jason Honkins, with a dodgy link attached - pretty sure it’s a scam!

Got a security alert from HSBC about my UK current account. Seems like a new payee called Jason Honkins has been added. The message said it was done on a Samsung S6 in Manchester. If you don’t know anything about this, they told me to click a link to sort out what might be fraud. Sounded a bit dodgy to me.

Got a message from a number saying they're from HSBC security, telling me a new payee called Jason Honkins was added to my account. They wanted me to click on a link. Don’t fall for it, it’s a scam and definitely not from the bank. Just ignore it!
