Got a message saying Lloyds flagged a payment of £412 to Emirates Airlines due on 02/08/26, saying it’s been approved. They told me to ring “08083038763” right away if I hadn’t authorised it. Seems like a total scam to me - the phone numbers don’t add up and there’s no such transaction showing on my bank statement. Don’t fall for it!

Got a message saying, “Fraud alert from Lloyds: a payment of £412 to Emirates Airlines was approved for 02/08/26. If you didn’t make this payment, ring us right away on 08083038763.” I don’t even bank with Lloyds, so definitely a scam.

I’ve been getting loads of texts like this lately, even though I’m not a Lloyds bank customer. Then again, they do deal with some credit cards, so maybe that’s why? Either way, it’s getting a bit much now.
