Like others have mentioned, I got a call saying my National Insurance number would be suspended soon, claiming to be from HMRC and the NCA. The weird thing is the number showed up as my local area code, but surely no official agency would ring you on a local mobile like that for such serious stuff. Honestly, I’d say it’s best to flag it as a scam and be careful with these calls.

Somebody called me pretending to be from the National Crime Agency, warning that my National Insurance Number would be suspended. Seriously? Do you honestly think a legit government body would call from a mobile number? I’m not buying it at all.
