For weeks now, I've had nonstop phone calls from various numbers at all times - day, night, even weekends. The person on the line says they're adjusting my Council Tax band and that I'll get some money back. Sometimes they pretend to be from the bank, other times they claim they're from HMRC. They’ve asked for my bank info to process the refund, but the caller spoke with a heavy European accent, making it hard to follow. It dawned on me it was a scam when I said I'd want any changes sent through the post instead.
