They rang me a couple of times asking if I could confirm my job and name.

I got a call from a woman who seemed to have a Filipino accent, and she wanted to verify my name. When I asked who was calling, she gave a first name and then repeated my name along with my company, asking if it was indeed me. I didn’t confirm and instead asked her again who she was. She just hung up after that. Tried calling back using two different phones, but both times it said ‘call could not be connected.’ Seems like a dodgy number to me.

They hung up right after confirming, then I couldn’t get through when I tried calling back. Seems like they meant to do that.
